Los Angeles Times Features Tulchin Research’s LA County Election Survey
Our new survey finds that Los Angeles County voters have substantial confidence in local election administration, even as they worry about misinformation and political interference ahead of November’s general election.
More than two-thirds of likely voters (68%) say the County does an excellent or good job running elections, and roughly three-quarters expect the upcoming election to be accurate, secure, and fair. At the same time, nearly three-quarters worry that false rumors and misleading information could confuse voters or lead them to believe their ballots will not count.
The findings highlight an important distinction: voters can trust the people administering local elections while remaining concerned about threats to the process. They also underscore the importance of clear, reliable information about how elections work and the safeguards that protect voters’ ballots.
The survey was conducted September 30–October 6, 2026, among 500 likely general election voters in Los Angeles County.
